A pretty small drop-flap table dating from the early 19th Century. It stands on elegant square tapering legs with its original brass cup castors. The legs are beautifully inlaid with boxwood stringing and marquetry decoration. The top of the table has a boxwood strung border and further marquetry decoration with a musical scene of a lute in the centre and the leaves are inlaid with traditional regency style swags.
The two drop leaves are supported by the legs that hinge outwards.
It is a very pretty and delicate piece with a wonderful rich patina and colour. It is in good condition for its age but there are signs of age and use and some minor damages. There are some small pieces of inlay missing and the top has been well used and has some surface marks and scratches but it still displays well. The table is strong and sturdy and moves well on its wheels. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
