A large mahogany chest of drawers dating from the late 19th Century. They are set on a plinth base with two short over three long drawers, each with turned wooden knobs. The bottom drawer is particularly deep, incorporating the plinth into it. The top has a moulded edge and the corners of the chest are nicely rounded. They are good quality set and very well made with a lovely rich patina and warm colour.
They are in very good condition for their age and are strong and sturdy. There are the usual small signs of wear and use, a few marks and knocks and light surface marks on the top but nothing detrimental. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. Not all of the knobs match exactly but it isn't really noticeable and it still displays well. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
