A large Georgian mahogany chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. The drawers have their original brass swan neck handles and the chest stands on bracket feet. It is a good quality piece, very well made and the colour and patina of the mahogany is wonderful.
It is in good original condition. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks on the top and a few knocks around the feet but nothing untoward or detrimental. There are some minor shrinkage splits in the top which haven't affected the piece structurally and it still displays well. There are some historic worm holes in the backboards and some of the drawers which have been treated as a precaution and the drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open smoothly. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
