A lovely example of a mahogany framed Gainsborough type armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is good quality with a beautifully carved frame with floral roundels on the arms and cabriole carved legs with ball and claw feet.
It is a small chair but it has a deep sprung seat and it is very comfortable. It has been recently upholstered in a good quality fabric that compliments the chair.
The chair is in good condition and the mahogany has a lovely rich colour. There are some signs of age and use, some small marks and knocks around the legs but no major damages and it is strong and sturdy.
