The machine comes with 16 glass attachments for conducting the electricity through. They glow 'violet' when used which is where the name of the machine comes from. They are all stored in the velvet lined box on individual brackets. It is the most extensive set I've ever seen.
The box is covered in black rexine with metal latches on the front. The old leather carrying handle has perished.
Approximate Measurements :
Height of box : 4" (10cm)
Width : 14" (36cm)
Depth : 10" (26cm)
Length of black probe : 7" (18cm)
I have not attempted to test the machine as there is no plus to do so. It is being sold as seen and as a decorative collectable item rather than a working scientific instrument. It would certainly need professionally rewiring if it were ever to be used. There is some black tape on the side of the power pack which doesn't look original (see photos)
Overall it is in good condition for its age. The box has some scuffs and marks picked up over the years but nothing major. Inside, the box is nicely presented and all the glass apparatus are in good condition with no breakages or obvious damages and the applicator tube is in good condition.
