A lovely vintage globe on a square oak base with chrome axis. The globe carries the stamp "Philips Challenge Globe. Diameter 13 1/2 inches. London Geographical Institute. George Philip & Son Ltd. 32 Fleet St. Printed and Manufactured in Great Britain".
It likely dates from the mid 20th Century.
It is in good condition for its age and it spins freely on its axis. The globe has been lightly cleaned to preserve its original aged patina and is ready for display. There is some minor wear to the surface of the globe - some light scuffs and small areas which have rubbed over the years but nothing detrimental or untoward for a globe of this age.
