Product Details

A fine example of a stuffed and mounted Barn Owl in its original glass display case. It dates from the late 1800s / early 1900s. It has been very well preserved and mounted, perched on a branch in a naturalistic setting amongst natural foliage. It is set in a good quality glass fronted ebonised wooden case with a raised moulded border and silver gilt slip. It has a good solid back and has a strong ring for hanging on a wall.

It is in good condition for its age due to the protection the case has given over the years. The owl's feather's are full and have a good colour. There is no deterioration around his feet or legs and he looks very healthy. The background is clean and tidy with no major signs of deterioration or wear. The wooden case itself has a good aged patina with no major damages and has been lightly cleaned and waxed.
