A good example of a Victorian writing slope dating from the late 1800s. It is made of walnut with a lovely patina and it also comes with a working key.
The box is fitted with a good quality green baize writing surface. It comes with a small glass open ink pot and its original wooden pen tray. Both top and bottom sections of the writing surface lift up to reveal extra storage space below.
The box is in very good condition for its age with a beautiful patina and displays very nicely. There are some general signs of age and use, some knocks and light scuffs around the box but nothing untoward or detrimental. Overall the box displays very well.
