A lovely walnut open bookcase dating from the late 19th Century. It is a simple design set on a plinth base with nice reeded detail around the open front. It has two shelves with matching reeded detail on the fronts. The position of the shelves are adjustable on pegs that can be moved up and down. There are two small brass brackets which would have originally held a curtain rail across the front which could be reinstated if desired.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. The walnut has developed a lovely patina. It is not without some small knocks and marks and minor chips around the base (see photos) and a few old repairs but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
