A lovely three-tier walnut whatnot dating from the late 19th century. It has an attractive serpentine front and the shelves are supported by elegant barley twist turned supports with turned finials. The upper tier has a shaped gallery with pretty inlaid decoration. There is a single drawer in the base with turned knobs and the whatnot stands on turned feet with its original ceramic castors.
It is in good condition for its age and is a good quality piece with lovely rich timbers. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and stains and light knocks and a small old split on the corner of one shelf but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
