A lovely example of a small Victorian slipper chair dating from the mid 19th Century. It has a nice shape with a scrolling arched back and buttoned detailing. It stands on turned front legs with ceramic Cope & Collinson castors. The chair has been recently upholstered in a good quality, stylish yellow fabric with matching piping that compliments the chair.
The chair is in good overall condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few very minor marks on the upholstery but nothing detrimental. There has been a repair to one of the rear legs to strengthen it which is now strong and solid. There are signs of historic worm in the rear legs which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn’t affected the chair structurally or aesthetically.
