Very fine example of a stuffed and mounted Red Squirrel. He has been very well preserved and skilfully mounted perched on a wooden branch among natural foliage. He is in excellent condition due to the protection the dome has given him over the years. He has a thick covering of fur and his original whiskers and claws. The colour of the fur has faded slightly with age .... He comes under the original Victorian hand-blown glass dome which sits on an ebonised base. The dome has the usual natural imperfections but is undamaged and the wooden base has a rich aged patina.
