A good example of a solid Sterling Silver shaker. It could be for pepper but its wide flat top could also mean it were originally for pounce. It is a stylish and good quality piece with intricate repousse decoration on a round foot. It weighs approximately 59g.
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1899. The makers mark is slightly rubbed but I'm fairly confident it is T.H for Thomas Hayes.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks and minor dinks but nothing detrimental and overall it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
