A fine example of a Victorian solid silver sugar basket. It has a swing handle and stands on an oval foot. The basket itself is beautifully shaped and ornately decorated. It is excellent quality and weighs approximately 235g.
It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1880 and the makers John Aldwinckle & James Slater.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are a few minor surface marks but no major damages and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
