A fine example of an early Victorian Sterling Silver sugar sifter spoon. It is superb quality and has a beautifully pierced scalloped bowl. The handle has a pretty engraved floral decoration and the tip of the handle is engraved with a W or M (depending on how you look at it).
It measures approximately 6 1/4" (16cm) long and the bowl is 2" (5cm) wide. It weighs approximately 48g.
It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1843 and the maker Elizabeth Eaton.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
