A solid Sterling Silver salt and pepper shaker set. They are set on hexagonal bases with pierced tops and have a bright gilded interior. They are beautifully engraved with a cartouche on both sides. One side is engraved with an armorial crest of a dragon and the other side is engraved with "Salt" and "Pepper". They are stylish and good quality weighing approximately 109g.
They are clearly hallmarked for John Evans II, London, 1849 on both the bodies and the tops.
They are both in good condition. There are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and small dinks around the edges and corners but nothing detrimental. One finial is ever so slightly leaning but they still display well. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
