A good example of an antique silver double stamp box. It is in the form of a trough with two hinged lidded compartments either side of a central space. It stands on four curved feet and is engraved with initials "MSE".
It is hallmarked for Chester, James Deakin, 1885 although the marks are slightly rubbed.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some signs of age and use and a few small dinks and dents (one particular dent on the side that has been photographed) and some faint surface marks but overall it displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
