A fine example of a late Victorian Silk Top Hat with felt band. The hat is silk lined and has the maker's mark for "Christys' London".
The hat is in good condition and displays beautifully. There are some signs of age and use, some minor wear around the top edge and some minor wear and fraying inside (see photos) but nothing detrimental. It would certainly be wearable.
The inner circumference is approx 22" / 56cm which translates as a size 6 7/8.
The hat comes in its original leather carrying case with plush lined interior and strap for securing the hat. It has a retailers label inside the lid for "A.J.White. Hatter. 72 Jermyn Street. London. S.W".
The case is in very good condition with some signs of age and use, some minor scuffs and marks but nothing detrimental. We do not have a key and the leather strap that would go all the way around the outside is not intact.
