A fine example of a quality Victorian Rosewood box with brass bound corners and a brass cartouche. Most likely to have once been a sewing or trinket box it has now been relined with a beautiful fitted tray with silk lining. The tray lifts out to reveal an additional lined storage area below. It is fitted with a top quality Bramah lock and comes with a working key.
It is in good condition for its age and has been very well made and well looked after. There are some minor signs of age and use, some light surface scratches but nothing detrimental and overall the piece displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
