A lovely rosewood box dating from the early 19th century. It has beautiful inlaid marquetry decoration and mother of pearl cartouche and escutcheon. It stands on four small bun feet and comes with a working key.
Inside the box has further inlaid decoration below the lid and a padded velvet divider making the box perfect for a jewellery or trinket box.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some minor signs of age and use and a few small repairs on the corners but nothing untoward or detrimental and overall the piece displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
