Product Details

A good example of a large Victorian pine dresser dating from the mid 19th century. The base has an arrangement of seven drawers around a small central cupboard. The top part of the dresser is a panelled cupboard with double doors and a shelved interior. The two parts were not originally made to be together but have certainly been used together for a very long time. The colour on both is lovely and they do work very well together as one unit providing lots of storage.

The dresser is in very good condition throughout and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. It has been thoroughly cleaned and has a nice smooth waxed finish. It is not without some signs of age and use, general marks, knocks and stains and some repairs to chips around the drawers but nothing untoward or detrimental. At some point the very back top and bottom edges of the base have been tapered inwards, probably to fit in a narrow alcove (see photos). The drawers all open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside.
