Product Details

A lovely oak armchair dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a good comfortable chair and very well made with a nicely shaped solid seat. It has an attractive shape with square spindles supporting a shaped top rail and scrolling arms with curved supports. It stands on cabriole front legs with a double H-stretcher. It works well as a desk chair but would also be suitable as a nice hall chair or kitchen chair.

It is approximately 37" (94cm) high, the arms are 22" (56cm) wide. The seat is 19" (48cm) deep and approximately 17" (43cm) high.

It is in very good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely patina and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some light knocks and surface marks and a couple of old repairs but nothing detrimental or untoward. There are some minor signs of historic worm which has all been treated as a precaution. The chair has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
