A good example of a late Victorian altar chair in the Gothic Revival style. It is made of oak with a square panelled back, curving arms and turned legs with decorative carvings and roundels. It stands on sleigh feet with a foot rest at the back.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and small knocks and there is an old repaired shrinkage gap in the seat but no major damages or anything detrimental . It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
