A charming tabletop press dating from the mid 19th Century. It was likely used for books or linen. It is made from oak with a single long drawer. The press has a wooden winding handle and large wooden screw. It is a simple design which has created a beautiful and tactile piece of furniture.
It is in good condition throughout and is strong and sturdy. There are some signs of use and age but overall is a very clean and honest piece of furniture. There are some minor signs of historic worm which have been treated as a precaution and haven't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. It has been given a clean and a polish and displays well.
