A lovely example of a Victorian nursing chair dating from the late 19th Century. It is excellent quality with a beautifully carved frame with scrolling crest and it stands on turned legs terminating in small ceramic castors.
It has been recently restored and re-upholstered whilst retaining and preserving its original needlepoint covering, complimented by a pale velvet and studded edging.
The chair is in very good condition and is strong and sturdy. The wood has a beautiful rich colour which has been nicely polished. There are signs of age and use, some small marks and knocks around the legs but no major damages. There are a few minor marks on the upholstery but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully.
