A good Victorian mahogany writing table dating from the late 19th Century. It has two drawers, each with brass ring handles and it stands on tapering turned legs with its original ceramic castors. The desk is nicely finished on all sides and the rear of the desk has two matching dummy drawers. The top has an inset pale yellow leather writing surface with gilt tooled edge.
The desk is in very good condition. It has a lovely warm colour and a great patina on the leather surface. There are some marks, stains and areas of wear but no major damages. The drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy inside. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
