A lovely mahogany Wellington Chest dating from the late 19th Century. It is a traditional design with 7 graduated drawers flanked by square pillars with carved corbels. The right hand pillar is hinged and locks the drawers in place when closed. It is a well made and a good quality piece with an overhanging top and a plinth base.
It is in good condition and displays well with a lovely rich patina. There are signs of age and use and some minor marks and scuffs around the base and some old surface marks and minor blemishes on the top but nothing detrimental. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all run smoothly and it comes with a working key. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
