A beautiful mahogany sewing table dating from the mid to late 19th century. It has a single fitted drawer with two brass knobs above a large silk covered sewing compartment. It has a matching dummy drawer on the reverse of the table, complete with matching knobs. The table stands on beautifully shaped supports joined by a turned stretcher and it has bun feet with small castors below.
The table is in good condition for its age with a lovely patina. It is generally clean and tidy throughout and the drawer opens well. There are normal signs of wear and age, a few minor marks and knocks and there is an old repaired shrinkage split in the top (see photo) and a small split in one end support but the table is strong and sturdy and still displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
