A beautiful Victorian mahogany dating from the late 19th Century. It has an arrangement of 9 drawers around a central kneehole. Each drawer has its original turned wooden knobs and each pedestal has a plinth base and castors below. The top of the desk has a good quality green leather writing surface with a gold tooled edge.
The desk is in good condition for its age and has been well looked after. It has a lovely rich patina and the drawers open well. The inside of the drawers are generally clean and tidy with just some minor ink stains. A couple of the knobs have been replaced and there are some normal signs of age and use, some minor knocks and light surface marks but nothing detrimental. The desk has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
