A superb example of a mahogany lamp table dating from the mid 19th Century. It has a rectangular top with moulded edge and stands on a turned column with four splayed legs. It is an excellent quality piece with rich timbers and attractive carving around the base and scroll feet.
The maker's name and serial number is stamped on the underside "Johnstone & Jeanes, 67 New Bond St, London. 48978"
It is in excellent condition for its age and displays well. There are some minor signs of age and use, some small marks and knocks but nothing untoward or detrimental and it is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
