A pretty wingback armchair dating from the late 19th Century. It has traditional raised shaped wing sides, scrolling arms and it stands on square legs joined by a square H-stretcher. It has nice small proportions and is a good comfortable chair with a seat cushion.
The chair is upholstered in a good quality stylish red fabric with a traditional swirling pattern that compliments the chair well.
The chair is in good overall condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few general marks and small knocks around the legs but nothing detrimental. The upholstery is not new and there are light signs of wear and use and some minor stains along the top edges but nothing untoward. It looks clean and fresh and is perfectly usable as it is or will serve as a good solid frame for recovering.
The chair stands approximately 38 1/2" (98cm) high, 26" (66cm) deep and arm to arm the chair is 27" (69cm) wide. The seat is 20" (51cm) deep and 17 1/4" (44cm) high.
