A beautiful leather library chair dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a good comfortable chair with a mahogany fame and a deep overstuffed seat. It has a curved upholstered top rail supported by carved brackets. It stands on turned front legs and splayed rear legs, terminating in castors.
It has been upholstered in blue leather with brass studded edges. The leather is in very good condition with a little bit of wear but nothing detrimental. It serves as a very comfortable desk chair but could also be a nice library or hall chair.
The chair is in good condition for its age and has developed a lovely aged patina. There have been some repairs carried out over the years to strengthen it and the castors have been replaced at some point but the chair is structurally very sound with a sturdy frame. There are signs of age and use, some minor knocks and marks around the legs but no major damages or anything detrimental.
It is approximately 30" (76cm) high and 25" (64cm) deep. It is 29" (74cm) wide across the outside of the arms. The seat is approximately 18 (46cm) high.
