A lovely antique mahogany table dating from the late 19th Century. It has a thick planked top which has naturally bleached and faded over the years to create a very attractive, almost pine-like, surface. It stands on bulbous turned legs with original metal adjusters on the bottom which can be turned to adjust the height and ensure the table sits level on even the most uneven floor!
It is a good size and comfortably seats 6-8 with ample leg clearance of 24” (61cm) all the way around.
It is an excellent quality piece. There are no major damages and it is very solid and sturdy. There are various signs of age and use with lots of surface marks, cuts and minor stains but nothing detrimental and these have all helped to create a wonderful patina. It has been cleaned and lightly waxed and is ready for use.
