A superb quality candle stand dating from the mid 19th century. It has a beautifully turned base with three small feet and a bulbous turned support running up to a round shelf table. Above this is a candle holder with brass insert.
It is a very well made piece with the most wonderful rich timbers and a heavy base to prevent it toppling.
It is in excellent condition for its age and has a lovely patina. There are signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks and old stains on the shelf but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
