An attractive 19th Century butler's tray table. The folding stand has X-frame legs turned in a faux bamboo style and the mahogany tray has raised sides and two carrying handles. It is excellent quality and the mahogany has developed a nice rich patina.
It is in good condition with no major damages. At some point in its life two crossed pieces of wood have been inlaid into the base of the tray, presumably to strengthen it. There are signs of age and use, a small chip on the bottom of one foot, some wear and a few surface marks and minor old splits but nothing detrimental and it displays very nicely. It is strong and sturdy and has been cleaned and gently polished ready for use.
