A lovely leather covered Jewellery box, dating from the late 19th Century. The outer of the box is covered in leather with a brass key escutcheon on the front of the box. Inside, the box is fully lined with blue silk and plush blue velvet and has two fitted lift out trays with various sections for rings, bracelets etc and a large section below the trays for storing larger pieces. The lock is stamped 'Bramah', a top maker of the time, and it comes with a working key.
The box is in good condition for its age. It has been well used but well looked after and has retained its natural aged look. The outer has some small age related knocks and scuffs and there are a few areas of leather missing (see photos). Inside it is generally clean and tidy and overall it displays very well and is certainly a nice usable item.
