A good example of an antique hall lantern dating from the late 19th Century. It is square in shape with beautiful coloured glass panels in a gilt metal frame. It is a pretty piece with pierced designs around the base and fretwork designs around the top. It hangs from a chain fixed to all four corners.
It is stamped "Rd 99757" which is the registered patent design and can be dated to 1890.
Approximate Measurements:
Height : 13" (33cm)
Width : 8" (20cm)
The lantern is in good original condition with no major damages. The gilding has worn in places and the metal has tarnished but the glass is in good condition and it dsplays very nicely. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
