Product Details

A good example of an antique farmhouse chair dating from the late 19th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved scrolling arms supported by turned spindles. It is high backed with lathe supports and it stands on bulbous turned legs joined by a H-shaped stretcher.

It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks around the legs and some surface marks on the seat but nothing detrimental. It has developed a wonderful rich patina and the old stain has worn attractively on the arms and seat. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

The chair stands approximately 42" (107cm) high, 27" (69cm) deep and 24" (61cm) wide. The seat is approximately 16" (41cm) high and 18" (46cm) deep.
