A beautiful Victorian domed box of the highest quality. It is gilt brass with ornate mounted decoration and malachite cabochons. The interior of the box has been beautifully lined with teal green silk to match the cabochons.
It has the makers details engraved by the lock "Howell James & Co. Regent St. London".
It is in good original condition with no major damages. There are of course signs of age and use but nothing detrimental and no damage to the cabochons. A small area of gilding has worn on the top of the box where it has been handled frequently to open it but it still displays beautifully.
