Product Details

A good example of a Victorian mesh fire guard dating from the mid to late 19th century. It has a curved brass top rail and wire chain mesh with a metal base. It is often known as a nursery guard due to its high sides that completely surround the fire and there are small hoop brackets on each side which would have even used to fix it in place.

It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some tarnishing on the brass and some general signs of age and minor corrosion on the metal parts but no major damages or losses and it displays well.
