Product Details

A lovely Victorian child's high chair dating from the late 19th century. It is in the style of a traditional windsor bar back chair and it has a shaped elm seat standing on tall ring turned legs joined by a H-stretcher. The two turned arms would have once had a bar across to secure the child and there is also an elm footrest below the seat.

The rear of the chair is stamped with the maker's initial 'B'.

It is in good original condition with no major damages. There are signs of age and use and some marks and light knocks on the seat and around the legs but nothing detrimental. The seat has developed a lovely warp over the years which hasn't affected it structurally and it is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

The chair stands approximately 32" (81cm) high. It is 13" (33cm) wide across the arms and 16" (41cm) deep. The seat is 12" (30cm) deep, 11" (28cm) wide and 20" (51cm) high.
