A lovely Victorian oil lamp dating from the late 1800s complete with burner. The lamp itself is pottery which has been made by Doulton Lambeth. It has a lovely design of swag garlands and flying birds all around the lamp between borders of florals and leaves. It stands on a heavy black ceramic base. The font is made of glass and the brass collar is stamped "Hinks & Son's Patent".
It comes with a brass duplex burner stamped "Evered & Co Patent" with a 4" shade ring holder, wick turners and snuffer.
The lamp is in excellent condition for its age and displays beautifully. There are no damages on the lamp base that I can see. The burner is in good shape and the wick turners move smoothly although there is a small split in the brass on the domed top (see photo). The oil lamp is untested and I have not had it burning with paraffin in. However it appears to be in good order and I see no reason why it should not work as designed.
