Good example of an antique tavern stool dating from the mid 19th Century. It stands on ring turned windsor style legs with crossed stretchers. It has a solid fruitwood top with a lovely dished shape. The base retains its original painted finish which has worn in places leaving a wonderful patina.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some general knocks and marks here and there and a small chip on the edge of the seat but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
