A beautiful antique writing slope dating from the mid 19th Century. It is made of the finest Coromandel wood with inlaid brass stringing and matching brass cartouche and escutcheon.

he interior of the box is fitted with a good quality dark blue leather writing surface with a gilt tooled border. There is a removable pen tray, a small lidded section and two inkwells. There are also two hidden drawers concealed below the writing surface that are released by lifting the wood by the inkwell.
The box is excellent quality and
is in good condition for its age. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and it displays very well inside and out. There are some minor marks and knocks but no major damages and overall it displays beautifully. It does not come with a key.
