A good example of a large copper coal scuttle / hod dating from the late 19th century. It has a tapering body with an angled top and two handles. It is a good quality piece with a rolled rim and nice riveted detail.
It is in good original condition. There are signs of age and use, some small dents, dinks and surface marks but nothing untoward. It has been cleaned and lightly polished to retain its aged patina and is ready for use.
