A lovely carved oak stationery box with a sloped top opening to reveal a series of racks for holding papers and letters. There is also a small drawer at the bottom for extra storage and the box comes with its original working key. It has beautifully carved decorative panels of foliage on the top, front and sides. The carving is very well executed in relief and is similar to that of Black Forest pieces.
It is in very good condition with no major damages. There are some general signs of age and use, some small knocks and minor marks but nothing detrimental and it displays well.
