A lovely example of a small Victorian nursing chair dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It has a nice shape with an exposed frame and buttoned detailing. It stands on carved cabriole front legs with ceramic castors. The chair has been recently upholstered in a good quality, stylish green fabric with matching piping that compliments the chair.
The chair is in good overall condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few very minor marks on the upholstery but nothing detrimental. There are signs of historic worm in the front legs which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn’t affected the chair structurally or aesthetically. One carved scroll is missing from one front leg (see photo).
