A good example of a Victorian brass coal scuttle. It is a traditional helmet shape with a round foot and large carrying handle. It comes with it's original shovel with a turned wooden handle. Both pieces are very well made and good quality with riveted details.
They are both in good condition and display well. There are no major damages, splits or holes apart from some wear on the end of the shovel. There are signs of age and use, some dents, dinks and surface marks but nothing untoward. The brass has been gently polished to retain its lovely aged patina and is ready for use.
