Product Details

A good example of a Bar-Back carver chair dating from the late 19th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved arms supported by turned spindles. It has a high back with three horizontal bar splats and stands on turned legs joined by a H-stretcher.

The chair stands approximately 42" (107cm) high. It is 23" (59cm) wide across the arms and 24" (61cm) deep. The seat is 17" (43cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.

It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy with no signs of worm or any major damages. There are signs of age and use and the old finish has worn in places leaving a lovely aged patina. There are some light marks on the seat and minor knocks around the legs but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
