A good quality Victorian side table or washstand dating from the mid 19th century. It stands on turned tapering legs and has two drawers, each with their original turned knobs. It also has a raised shaped gallery around the top surface. Unusually, it is made from Ash which has a wonderful warm colour and lovely grain.
It is in good condition for its age. There are signs of age and use, some small marks and minor knocks here and there but no major damages and it displays well. The drawers open well and are generally tidy inside with a few old ink stains. There are signs of historic worm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
